Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist
Kimberly Adames is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about helping children find their voice, build meaningful communication skills, and thrive in both academic and social settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology with a minor in Spanish from SUNY Buffalo and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from St. John’s University.
Kimberly has extensive experience providing speech and language services to children from preschool through middle school in both public school and clinical settings. She specializes in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, receptive and expressive language disorders, speech sound disorders, ADHD, dysarthria, executive functioning challenges, and English language learners. Her therapy is rooted in evidence-based practice and individualized to meet the unique strengths and needs of every child.
As a bilingual English-Spanish clinician, Kimberly is committed to providing culturally responsive care and helping multilingual learners develop strong communication skills. She has experience completing comprehensive speech-language evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, writing IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and partnering closely with families and educators to maximize student success.
Kimberly also has experience supporting nonspeaking and minimally speaking students through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including the use of LAMP and other communication systems. She believes that every child can communicate and is dedicated to helping students build confidence, independence, and authentic connections with the world around them.
At Accelerate Academy, Kimberly provides speech-language evaluations, individual and small-group speech therapy, language intervention, social communication support, AAC implementation, and collaborative services integrated into each student’s educational program. Her compassionate, engaging approach helps students develop the communication skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
Kimberly is fluent in both English and Spanish and is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every child is valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
