Sara Wells is a dedicated educator with a passion for helping students discover their strengths and become confident, independent learners. She brings nearly a decade of experience providing individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, specializing in structured literacy, executive functioning, and psychology.
As the founder of Education Solutions for Diverse Learners, Sara has worked one-on-one with students using the evidence-based Orton-Gillingham approach to improve reading, spelling, decoding, fluency, and overall literacy skills. She develops highly individualized lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique learning profile while partnering closely with families to celebrate progress and support long-term success.
In addition to her literacy expertise, Sara is an experienced Executive Function Coach, helping students build essential life skills such as organization, time management, planning, study strategies, and self-advocacy. Her supportive, practical approach empowers students to become more confident and independent both in and out of the classroom.
Sara previously taught AP Psychology and Honors Neuroscience at Davidson Day School, where she created engaging, student-centered learning experiences and consistently guided students to exceptional AP exam success.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed Orton-Gillingham training through The Fletcher School. Sara is known for her collaborative spirit, thoughtful instruction, and unwavering commitment to helping every student reach their fullest potential.
